Philadelphia Feral Friends Network

Meet other trappers in your community!  Philadelphia Feral Friends Network aka “Philly Ferals” is a city-wide network of independent feral cat trappers and caretakers.  We believe that all animals deserve to be treated with great care and respect.  We believe euthanasia as originally intended should be used only for the humane ending of suffering and support the practice of responsible trap-neuter-return-management (TNRM).  We will trap or lend traps only where trap-neuter-return-management (TNRM) is supported and will never trap cats to be killed as a means of population control.

Philly Ferals is organized by location, so that persons living in the same area are networked with each other to more effectively share resources and address situations in their communities.  Philly Ferals’ volunteers respond to requests for advice and assistance as well as collaborate on neighborhood projects.  While nearly all volunteers work full time and there are limited resources to physically assist everyone requesting help, all inquiries will receive a practical, helpful response.

The network is open to all levels of TRNM experience. Those interested in learning how to trap and help stray and feral cats are asked to attend a TRNM workshop and are introduced to experienced trappers and rescues in their area.  Volunteers are required to follow standard guidelines for feral cat trapping and caretaking and act in a highly responsible, reliable, committed, cooperative, and professional manner.

While individual rescuers may do their own adoptions or work with other adoption and rescue groups, Philly Ferals does not have an adoption program and is not affiliated with any shelter or rescue group.
